Quotes

Parliament’s President Roberta Metsola said: “The European Year of Youth is just a starting point. Wherever discussions are taking place about young people and their future, they should be there too. The European Parliament counts on young people: to be active, to make their voice heard and to push the message of Europe. Europe cannot afford to leave anyone behind. Not least our young people.”

EP rapporteur on European Year on Youth Sabine Verheyen (EPP, DE) said: “The European Year of Youth was the right initiative at the right time. We made young people a real priority in 2022. The European Parliament is committed to creating a legacy of this year and intends to tackle the big issues that came out of it. Now is our chance to show that we take youth participation seriously.”
