Zero-emission new cars and vans in 2035: debate and final vote

In a debate at 9.00, Parliament will assess with Commission Executive Vice-President Timmermans the deal reached with member states setting the path towards zero CO2 emissions for new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in 2035, a key measure to reach the EU objective of climate neutrality in 2050. The vote will take place at noon.

New tasks for the committee on foreign interference and a new EU ethics body

In a vote at noon, Parliament is set to task the special committee on foreign interference with identifying the shortcomings in Parliament’s rules on transparency, integrity, accountability and anti-corruption. In the afternoon, starting after 16.00, plenary will discuss with Commission Vice-President Jourová and Swedish Minister for EU Affairs Roswall the steps ahead for the creation of an independent ethics body for the EU institutions. MEPs will vote on a resolution on Thursday.

Delay in the EU’s accession to the Istanbul Convention

At 13.00, MEPs will take stock of the ratification process by the EU of the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women, six years after its signature, in a debate with Commissioner Dalli.
