Improving product labelling, durability and putting a stop to misleading claims

In a vote at noon, MEPs will adopt their position for negotiations with Council on a new directive to improve product labelling, ban planned obsolescence so products will last longer and end misleading claims. The main aim is to help consumers make environmentally friendly choices and encourage companies to offer them more durable and sustainable products.

Artificial Intelligence Act – committee vote

The Internal Market and Civil Liberties committees will vote on draft rules to ensure AI systems placed on the EU market are safe and lawful. The text includes specific obligations for high-risk AI systems and bans on certain unacceptable AI practices, e.g. social scoring.
