One-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel
At the opening of the session, EP President Metsola will pay homage to the victims of the 7 October 2023 attacks. A debate with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell will follow, in which MEPs are expected to reiterate their solidarity with Israel and demand that all hostages be freed. The latest developments in the war in Gaza and the violence and instability engulfing the Middle East are also likely to be raised in the discussion.
