From around 10.00, MEPs and Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas will assess EU emergency coordination and preparedness for health crises, in the wake of the hantavirus outbreak on the Dutch-flagged wildlife expedition ship MV Hondius earlier this month.

“Stop Destroying Videogames” citizens’ initiative

At 9.00, MEPs and Commissioner Tzitzikostas will discuss a European citizens’ initiative that seeks to prevent publishers that sell or license videogames to consumers in the EU from rendering their videogames unplayable by disabling them remotely once they are discontinued. The European Commission has six months, until 26 July, to decide what action (if any) it intends to take in response to the initiative and explain its reasons.
