MEPs will debate the architecture and governance of the 2028-2034 multiannual financial framework (MFF) with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Danish Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre for the Council Presidency from around 16.30. Parliament set out its priorities for the next MFF in May, criticising the Commission’s plan for one national plan per Member State and calling for a structure that ensures transparency and parliamentary accountability, while involving regional and local authorities.
