Debate with Presidents Michel and von der Leyen ahead of the spring summit

From 9.00 to 11.00, MEPs will assess the outcome of the extraordinary 9 February EU summit and outline their priorities for the spring European Council (23-24 March) in a debate with Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen. The latest developments in Russia’s war against Ukraine and the EU’s continued support for Ukraine are likely to feature prominently, as will the EU action to enhance competitiveness and growth and energy-related issues.

Commemoration of International Women’s Day

Parliament will mark International Women’s Day (8 March) at 11.00, with addresses by Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi and Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, followed by a round of interventions by political groups. In a separate debate around 16.00 with Commissioner Dalli and Swedish Minister for EU Affairs Roswall, MEPs will look into the situation of activists working in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
