At present, inter-institutional press badges grant journalists access to all EU institutions but a separate electronic key card is required to access some areas in Parliament that separate the visitors/public from the political/press work zones.

Following work by the security and technical teams at both the European Parliament and the European Commission, the inter-institutional press badge has now been upgraded to include access to these areas within the European Parliament without the need for an additional electronic key card.

For technical reasons (re-programming) however, you will need to be re-issued with a new inter-institutional press badge in order to have automatic access inside Parliament. These new re-programmed inter-institutional badges will be available from the European Commission from 11/04/2023, by appointment:
