Concerns about the Hungarian government’s deliberate and systematic attempts to undermine the founding values of the EU enshrined in Article 2 TEU will be the focus of a plenary debate on Wednesday, from around 17.00. MEPs will then vote on a draft resolution on Thursday at 11.00.

Who: The standing rapporteur for Hungary Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield (Greens/EFA, FR), and the shadow rapporteurs Isabel Wiseler-Lima (EPP, LU), Thijs Reuten (S&D, NL), Ramona Strugariu (Renew, RO) and Malin Björk (The Left, SE), will explain the content of the draft resolution and answer journalists’ questions.

When: Wednesday 31 May 2023, 11:00 – 11:30 CEST

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, Anna Politkovskaya press conference room (0A50), Spaak building, and with remote participation.
