MEPs to call for action against Russian disinformation on Ukraine

At noon, Parliament will vote on a resolution focused on Russia’s manipulation of history and use of false narratives to justify its war of aggression against Ukraine. The draft text rejects the various claims made by the Russian regime as futile attempts to justify an illegal war of aggression, demands sanctions against Russian media outlets spreading disinformation be expanded and sets out the concerns of MEPs about decisions by several social media companies to relax fact-checking rules.
